Anxiolytic agent afobazole (10 mg/kg intraperitoneally) 24 h after ischemia restores impaired balance of excitatory and inhibitory amino acids in a striatum of dog rats, normalizes their content to control levels, and activates endogenous taurine-dependent system of neuroprotection.

More than 35,000 brand new cases of human brucellosis were reported in 2010 by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. An dragging B. melitensis vaccine M5-90 is currently used for vaccination of sheep and goats in China. In the study, a periplasmic protein BP26 from M5-90 was characterized for its epitope reactivity with rodent monoclonal and sheep antibodies. A sum of 29 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) opposite recombinant BP26 (rBP26) were produced, that were tested for reactivity with a row of BP26 peptides, 3 truncated rBP26 and native BP26 containing membrane protein extracts (NMP) of B. melitensis M5-90 in ELISA and Western-Blot. The linear, semi-conformational and conformational epitopes from native BP26 were identified. Two linear epitopes recognized by mAbs were suggested by 28 of 16mer overlapping peptides, that were accurately mapped as the core design of amino acid residues (93)DRDLQTGGI(101) (position 93 to 101) or residues (104)QPIYVYPD(111), respectively. The reactivity of linear epitope peptides, rBP26 and NMP was tested with 137 sheep sera by ELISAs, of that the two linear epitopes had 65-70% reactivity and NMP 90% consistent with the formula of a combination of two customary serological tests. The formula were helpful for evaluating the reactivity of BP26 antigen in M5-90.

Angioarchitecture of Spinal Dural Arteriovenous Fistula - Evaluation with 3D Rotational Angiography.

Neurointervention. 2012 Feb; 7(1): 10-6
Suh DC, Kim HS, Baek HJ, Park JW, Kim KK, Rhim SC

The complex angioarchitecture of spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs) sometimes preclude angiographic analyses or superselective procedures. Therefore, a effectiveness of 3 dimensional rotational angiography (3DRA) as a detailed imaging technique for SDAVFs was evaluated.Of 57 patients with spinal vascular malformations, recent 13 SDAVF patients underwent 3DRA. The advantage of 3DRA compared to digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in imaging SDAVF was assessed. Angioarchitecture of SDAVF was focused upon location, number, as well as march of feeders as well as draining vein. Appropriate pointed views were also selected to exhibit a segmental artery as well as feeders.3DRA technique supposing one more report for imaging evaluation of SDAVFs compared to DSA; a presence of multiple feeders, including their transdural portions, as well as their courses. The contralaterally pointed anterior-oblique-caudal (spider) view showed a radicular feeder by separating a intercostal artery as well as a dorsal muscular branch. The bottom-to-up (tunnel) view was useful for revealing a location (ventral vs. dorsal) including sharp medial turn of a dural feeder. The dual mode, which displays both vessels as well as bones, revealed a march of a feeders as well as a fistula related to a spinal bony column.Because spinal vasculature overlaps in DSA, 3DRA revealed one more report for evaluations of a number as well as transdural march of fistular feeders in SDAVFs, as well as it offers working angles to acquire appropriate views.

Expression of a Recombinant Extracellular Fragment of Human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor VEGFR1 in E. coli.

Bull Exp Biol Med. 2011 Jul; 151(3): 347-52
Leopold AV, Baklaushev VP, Pavlov KA, Chekhonin VP

Human vascular endothelium expansion cause receptor VEGFR1 is a type III fms-like tyrosine kinase with wrongly pronounced tyrosine kinase function. The second and third IgG-like domains of a extracellular part of VEGFR1 act as "traps" for VEGF and are prospective candidates for antiangiogenic therapy of VEGF-dependent tumors. cDNA encoding extracellular Ig-like domains 2, 3, 4 of VEGFR1 was cloned in expressing vectors pET28a, pET32a, and pQE60. The recombinant protein was expressed in E. coli cells and purified by metal affinity chromatography. An expressing construction and a superproducer strain were created, allowing a production of high amounts of recombinant VEGFR1 extracellular fragment, needed for initial in vivo antiangiogenic therapy.

Markers of inflammation and intracellular metabolism of neutrophils in patients with acute coronary syndrome and normal troponin T levels.

Bull Exp Biol Med. 2011 Aug; 151(4): 467-9
Kratnov AE

Markers of inflammation and intracellular metabolic rate of neutrophils were studied in 58 patients with acute coronary syndrome with different levels of troponin T. In patients with steady coronary events within a year, more pronounced endothelial dysfunction associated with activation of oxygen-dependent metabolic rate of neutrophils and lipid peroxidation process was revealed at admission to the hospital.

Ultrastructure and Stereology of Cardiomyocytes in the Development of Regenerative and Plastic Myocardial Insufficiency during Ontogeny.

Bull Exp Biol Med. 2011 May; 151(1): 88-94
Nepomnyashchikh LM, Lushnikova EL, Molodykh NA, Klinnikova MG, Molodykh OP

The age-related features of ultrastructural reorder of cardiomyocytes were studied in rats with anthracycline-induced injury. The growth of regenerative and plastic insufficiency of cardiomyocytes in animals of various age groups was accompanied by stereotypic ultrastructural reorganization. The major changes concerned the nucleus, myofibrillar compartment, and rough sarcoplasmic reticulum. Intracellular reorder of cardiomyocytes in immature animals was observed in the same period, but included a greater decrease in the volume density of myofibrils as compared to that in aged rats. The recovery of cardiomyocyte ultrastructure in immature animals occurred in the earlier period. Cardiomyocytes of aged rats were characterized by greater structural modification of mitochondria and substantial area of lytic changes in myofibrillar bundles. Cardiotoxicity of doxorubicin in immature animals was manifested in severe destruction of the capillary endothelium, which occurred in the early period after treatment.

Metastatic spinal tumor.

Asian Spine J. 2012 Mar; 6(1): 71-87
Lee CS, Jung CH

In accordance with extending presence periods of cancer patients, number of consecutively developing metastatic spinal growth is also increasing. There have been improvements in the treatment results of metastatic spine growth by virtue of the developments in diagnostic radiology, chemotherapy, adjuvant treatment, operative device and technique, dissimilar preoperative plan, and standardised operation. Accordingly, surgical indication has also increased. Clinically, in case of metastatic spine tumor, treatment of growth itself should be focused on pain relief, preservation of neurologic function, prevention of pathologic fracture, prevention of pathologic fracture, and correction of spinal instability for improving quality of life, rather than for extension of survival. Additionally, etiology of spinal tumor, correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment principles should be thoroughly understood before substantiating treatment plans for effective treatments.
